Quieting the “Not Enough” Voice

I remember sitting in my apartment one evening in Ghana, staring at the list of things I said I’d get done that week… and realizing I had barely scratched the surface. A wave of disappointment rolled in. That familiar whisper: “You’re not doing enough. You’re behind. You should be further along.”

But I caught myself.

Because the woman I am today knows how to talk back to that voice. She knows that voice was never mine to begin with—it was inherited, absorbed, and fed by a world that profits off of my burnout and my doubt.

So instead of spiraling, I grabbed my journal and wrote down everything I had done. I wrote down the emotional breakthroughs, the systems I put in place, the creative ideas I dared to try. And I felt proud.

Here’s what I’ve learned—and what I want to pass on to you—about quieting that “not enough” voice and anchoring yourself in progress, possibility, and self-trust.

Actionable Steps to Quiet the “Not Enough” Voice

🌀 Reframe Expectations
Begin by acknowledging your growth instead of focusing on what hasn’t happened yet. Look at the progress you’ve made in the last 1.5 years. This is just the beginning! Celebrate the milestones, no matter how small.

🌿 Define Success on Your Own Terms
Let go of media-driven ideas of success. Success for you doesn’t have to be about making six figures from e-products overnight. Success is learning your audience, testing new strategies, and evolving your business.

💫 Practice Gratitude for Every Win
When you feel that “not enough” feeling creeping in, ground yourself by listing 3 things you’re grateful for that day—this keeps your mind focused on abundance and the progress you’ve made.

🌱 Work on Releasing the Scarcity Mindset
This is something that will take time, but begin by consciously catching those moments where you feel the scarcity mindset popping up. When you hear “not enough,” gently remind yourself that you are enough, and there is always more to come.

🧠 Embrace the Learning Process
You’re still learning. Running ads, creating products, and understanding your audience—all of this is a learning curve. It’s okay to not have all the answers right now. The key is to keep experimenting and fine-tuning your approach.

I’m not perfect. And I don’t have to be to feel proud of how far I’ve come. And neither do you.

If you’re feeling like you’re behind, ask yourself: according to whom? Chances are, that timeline you’re chasing was never meant to honor your healing, your softness, your lived experiences.

Let your growth be slow. Let your healing be nonlinear. Let your wins feel yours.

There’s no rush. You’re not behind. You’re already becoming the person you dreamed about years ago.

Let that be enough—for today.
