This is guest post from Tamesha Danyelle, an Oakland transplant to NYC and an image consultant. Here she  provides LOADS of product recommendations on how to best rock your best summer skin, and hair… on a budget, of course!! 🙂 SUMMER HAIR TRENDS
In terms of hair, I say women on a budget should get creative and stylish for the summer. I love the big hair, curls, braided, and up-do’s. Get rid of the jet black for a few months, and be bold enough to do a fly copper red, honey blonde, or goldish brown and make sure the hair color accentuates your skin tone and facial features!
HAIR CARE AT HOME
Save yourself some money. Instead of having to depend on a hair stylist, get familiar with your hair in the comfort of your home. I’m a big fan of the Shea Moisture products: the Organic Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Hair Milk and Organic Yucca Baobab Anti-Breakage Masque is everything!!!. Carol’s Daughter Monoi Repair Collection is the truth. That shampoo, conditioner, and hair mask will have your hair feeling and smelling lovely! The Organix Brazilian Keratin Therapy line is amazing, especially for relaxed hair; it adds shine and moisture to dull hair, giving it a glow that will have you wanting to flaunt it all over the City!
SUMMER SPLURGES
Now, for those of you who are looking to ball a little bit over your budget, try the entire hair line by Sebastian. Yes, it’s a bit pricey, but this is a salon-approved product line that will strengthen and grow your hair, while making you feel as though you just stepped out the hair salon! For women with short hair, you’ll love the hair spray that acts as a shaper to do wild funky hair styles.
BEAUTY ON A BUDGET
I’m a stickler for facial products and beauty supplies. My favs? Please, please, please pick up the Pink Grapefruit cleanser by Neutrogena. It smells fabulous and makes your skin glow and feel fabulous; a must-have is also the Burt Bees facial line that uses all natural products, including the exfoliating scrub, the 100% Cotton face cleanser for Sensitive Skin, the Orange Citrus facial cleanser, and Intense Hydration Cream Cleanser; I also highly recommend the Alba Sea Facial Mask for night time usage.
Ladies, don’t skimp on the moisturizer! I repeat, do not skimp on the moisturizer! 🙂 Moisturizer is a must, regardless if you have oily skin or not– just make sure it doesn’t include petroleum. For years, I’ve sworn by the Nivea moisturizer cream, which is affordable and works for all seasons.
BEAUTY BUDGET BUSTERS
If you don’t mind spending a bit more for some really fab products, I say go the Carol’s Daughter route and splurge on the Acai Clarifying Exfoliation Toner, which adds as a great solution to breakouts and oily skin and follow-up with Carol’s Daughter Acai Face Butter, which is like silk and will have your skin feeling amazing!
I like to save money by using grade seed oil as a leave in conditioner for my hair.
