The upcoming holidays and obligations at this time of year causes a lot of stress for many people.
Rather than get caught in the busyness and rush of the season follow these quick and easy tips for having a sane and balanced holiday season.
Tip #1 – Spend time with people and activities that you enjoy. If you must attend an event out of duty or obligation then stay only as long as you can be kind. Whether you are with family, friends, or co-workers, if you find yourself getting grumpy or resentful it’s time to thank your host and leave!
Tip #2 – Set Priorities. What are the most important things for you right now? Is it work? Family? Relationships? Identify your priority and then set time aside for that thing or person.
Tip #3 – Practice Saying No. If you set your priorities then you will need to say no to some things and people in order to say yes to what is really important to you.
Tip #4 – Be Realistic. There are only 24 hours in a day and you can’t do everything and be everything to everyone all of the time. Know what is realistic to accomplish within a given time frame. Remember that you have to allot time for sleep, travel, and food throughout the day.
Use these four tips and you’ll be on your way to a sane holiday season!
